The North ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Schools Board of Education provides governance for the District as its top elected officials. The Superintendent of Schools reports directly to the Board of Education.

The school board uses a web-based eGovernance program called that allows board members and members of the public to easily access current and archived school board agendas, related documents and meeting minutes in an online format.

Agendas for the meetings are posted on BoardDocs at 12:01 a.m. the day before a scheduled meeting. All agendas, supporting documents and minutes approved by the Board of Education also may be found on this site.

The North ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Schools Board of Education is seeking applications from qualified district residents to fill a vacancy on the Board. 
 
The Board of Education would like to thank Dr. Dan Wartick for his many years of dedicated service to the students of North ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Schools. The Board accepted Dr. Wartick’s resignation at the August 29, 2023 business meeting. The Board may opt to appoint an individual to the resulting vacancy or leave it open until the April 2, 2024 election. The Board is currently seeking applicants to fill the vacant seat through April 2024. Through an application and interview process, the Board may appoint an eligible district resident to serve on the Board of Education until the April 2, 2024 election.

Selection Process

All those interested in serving on the NKC Schools Board of Education are encouraged to complete an application. This is an open seat with the term ending with the April 2024 election. The. Please note candidates must be a resident of the district for at least one year immediately preceding their appointment. Interested applicants are asked to complete and submit the Board of Education Candidate Questionnaire along with a letter of interest to Peggy Cole, Board of Education Secretary/Clerk, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

The tentative schedule to fill the vacant seat, subject to change, is as follows:
 
Tuesday, August 29, 2023: The Board accepted the resignation of Dr. Dan Wartick during its business meeting.
Wednesday, August 30, 2023: Application window for Board vacancy opens at 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday, September 13, 2023: Application window for Board vacancy closes at 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 19, 2023: Board of Education may meet to review candidates.
Monday, September 25, 2023: Board of Education may meet for a panel interview of selected applicants at 6:00 p.m. The Board may vote to appoint the chosen candidate during this special meeting.
Tuesday, September 26, 2023: The chosen candidate would take the oath of office and is sworn in during the regular business meeting. 
 
If the selected candidate wishes to continue serving on the Board beyond April 2024, they would be required to file in December for the election on April 2, 2024.
