  • Operations encompasses a variety of departments that work collaboratively to support the district’s number one priority, educating children. More than 1,500 support staff in NKC Schools work across our 54 sites in a variety of key roles, coming together to serve as relentless champions for all students.

    A few highlights include:

    • Buses traveling over 2.4 million miles a year
    • Kitchens serving over three million meals annually
    • Technology Department supports over 22,000 Apple devices
    • Maintenance Department supports over three million square feet of space in 54 facilities
    • Grounds Department cares for nearly 870 acres of land
