At the January 26, 2023, regular meeting of the CCSF Governing Board of Trustees, the Trustees unanimously voted to approve the following changes:?

1. Lifting the indoor mask mandate and changing the indoor masking policy to strongly recommended.?
2. Suspending the in-person classroom instruction student vaccine mandate effective for Summer 2023 registration. ?NOTE: The employee vaccination mandate will still be in effect.?

Indoor Masking?
Effective Monday, February 6, 2023, indoor masking at all CCSF locations will be highly recommended and no longer mandated.??If you are currently unable to work in person without mandated masking due to a health condition, our Human Resources Department can support you through an accommodation process.??Depending on specific circumstances, accommodations may include access to workspaces with proximity to windows, N-95 masks, and mobile ventilation support units.??Please contact our new Equal Employee Opportunity Officer, Aaron Chase, achase@ccsf.edu in Human Resources for additional details.????????

Student Vaccine Mandate?
Effective for the Summer 2023 registration period, the student vaccine mandate for in-person classes will be lifted.??Students will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination before?registering for in-person classes at CCSF.?

Next Steps regarding CCSF¡¯s COVID policies and procedures:

• Health & Safety Committee. Our college-wide Health and Safety Committee has met twice this semester to discuss the college¡¯s current Administrative Procedure 2.23, Communicable Disease. The committee is developing recommendations to be presented to the Participatory Governance Council before the winter break. Recommendations being considered include updates to testing requirements, signage, masking, as well as vaccine requirements including exemptions.
• Participatory Governance Council (PGC). PGC will review and discuss the recommendations made by the Health and Safety Committee. A final set of recommendations to update the existing Administrative Procedure 2.23, Communicable Disease will be made to the Chancellor before the end of the fall semester.
• College-wide Forum. CCSF will hold a college-wide forum at the end of the semester to review proposed updates to Administrative Procedure 2.23, Communicable Disease. This will be an opportunity for the entire college community to provide feedback and input on the recommended updates. Based on the nature and extent of the recommended updates, future timelines, constituent meetings, and possible implementation details will be discussed at the forum as well. ?

As the fall semester is starting tomorrow, we want to share campus information as well as some brief updates about campus health and safety. ?CCSF continues to welcome back more students and staff in preparation for the fall session beginning this Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Some important things have not changed:

Coming to campus this fall?

• Fall building hours (effective August 17, 2022) are available on the COVID-19 updates webpage and will be posted at the entrance to campus facilities.
• In-person services and registration support are available. Visit the In-Person Enrollment Support page for more details about what days and times you can access resources on-campus and at the centers.
• Food Services: Faculty, staff and students in our Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies Department are looking forward to providing on-campus food services again. The plan is to open for business right after Labor Day. We encourage you to stop by the cafeteria, Chef¡¯s Table, and a curry-theme experimental kitchen near the Women¡¯s Resource Center in Smith Hall. Until Labor Day, food service will be available at the Lunch Box as well as grab-and-go options at the bookstore.
• Parking: Parking enforcement for the fall 2022 semester begins September 1st, 2022. Daily parking permits are available from our parking permit dispensers located in the Upper Reservoir, Q parking lot, N parking lot, S parking lot, and A parking lot. As we finish midterm exams and head into spring break,?we wanted to share a few updates and provide information about returning to campus.

Chancellor¡¯s office updates?

Alexis Litzky joined the Chancellor¡¯s Office as the Interim Chief of Staff. In this position, Alexis will be supporting operations and coordinating communication across the district.? Alexis will play the point of contact for?1) Return to campus planning, 2) media and governmental relations requests (until a new Director of Media is hired), and 3) supporting internal communications. ??

Return to Campus?

Starting Monday, April 4, 2022, our administrators and classified managers will return to campus full-time.

Vaccine and COVID reporting policy?

We will continue to require vaccination (or qualified exempting and testing) for anyone coming to a physical location. Symptom self-checking and completing contact tracing forms (the QR code forms at every building entrance) ensures that we can adequately notify individuals about exposure. Visitors (one-time or recurring) will be expected to follow our posted visitor policy and follow all posted safety measures.?

If you, an employee you supervise, or a student has tested positive for COVID-19, please fill out the??immediately to notify the CCSF COVID Response team. Data about case reports and vaccination status are available on our COVID-19 Safety Dashboard.?

Additionally, as we continue to engage with students and community members throughout the coming months, please encourage all campus community members to submit their proof of vaccination through the MyRam app.??

Building access

Starting April 4, 2022 - the Monday after Spring Break ¨C our campus and center facilities will be opened. CCSF buildings will be accessible to faculty and students attending class, the administrators and classified managers returning to work, and any additional employee interested in returning to campus. The buildings will be open according to the posted building schedule of hours.? If you would like to return to your workspace on campus, please reference the building hours and follow all relevant safety measures.?

Wear a mask

CCSF will continue a mandatory mask policy whenever indoors with others.

Facilities

The facilities team has installed CDC-recommended air filters in our building.? Building signage will include information about safety measures that have been implemented. If you have any specific questions or concerns about the facilities' condition upon returning to your workspace, please email facilities at?facilities@ccsf.edu.??

Future reopening discussions

Throughout the second part of the spring semester and beyond, Participatory Governance Council (PGC) will be asked to dedicate time for campus-wide reopening discussions.? These discussions will focus on the review, updating, and implementation of the three-stage CCSF reopening plan.???

After we return from spring break, the following items will be upcoming conversation points discussed in our campus governance groups:?

• Open shared meeting spaces for the remainder of spring 2022?
• Identify what services/departments will reopen in person for summer/fall 2022?
• Implementation and enforcement of safety policies?

The Return to Campus (R2C) group will continue to meet and engage in discussions specific to individual needs and/or unique circumstances specific to campus reopening.?

We are still in the process of identifying and training Campus Ambassadors who will be monitoring open entrances to check for verifications, as well as waiting for clearance from Google to use the ReadyEducation app for this purpose. ?We will keep everyone updated. ?In the interim:

Dear College Community,
Tomorrow, Friday, October 1^st marks the launch of our phased-in COVID Safety Campaign. The key word here is ¡°phased-in.¡±

Phase One: Collection of information

• We begin implementing a system for the collection of information on vaccination status and requests for exemptions.
• The first group required to upload their vaccination information or request for exemption will be:
  1. students taking in-person classes, and
  2. employees consistently coming to campus (3 or more days a week), and?
  3. third party visitors.?
• If you fall into one of these groups, upload your vaccination status or request for an exemption (religious or medical) beginning October 1 (see top of page). Employees ¡ª classified, faculty, administrators ¡ª must use their 365 email account. Once your information is verified, you will receive an email confirming you are cleared to be on campus. (A mobile App will be available soon).
• Employees and students who are mostly remote this semester will receive notification by October 15 directing them to begin uploading their vaccine status or exemption form.
• In planning for Spring registration, students and employees intending to be in-person in Spring 2022, can begin submitting vaccination status or exemptions requests on November 1^st.
• If you are not yet vaccinated, visit for vaccination locations throughout the City of SF.

On September 7, 2021, the Chancellor sent a message to the college community regarding a phased in return to In-Person Operations, beginning October 1, 2021.

On August 12, 2021 the CCSF Board of Trustees passed a Vaccine Mandate resolution, which directs the Interim Chancellor to come up with a plan and protocol for requiring vaccination status. A draft of such plan will be presented at the August 26, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting for further discussion and feedback. We are still registering students for Fall Classes and proof of vaccination IS CURRENTLY NOT REQUIRED to attend all classes.

Dear Community,

The current situation with the Delta variant emphasizes how the COVID pandemic is a fluid and evolving situation. We will continue to proceed with caution.

Our caution has been effective. While we have had infections among employees and students, we have not had an outbreak at the College. Our contact tracing has not tied any of these infections to an in-person activity at the College.

Per the CDC mandated guidelines for higher education, we will continue requiring social distancing and mask-wearing inside all of our facilities and locations, regardless of vaccination status. We also continue to restrict building access to College facilities. For the Fall we have planned for mostly remote delivery of services.

As for a vaccine mandate, there are several things in the works, such as uniform guidelines from the state Chancellor's office. Please access the responses from our own employee and student surveys conducted late spring semester and the next steps to collect information regarding current vaccination status, .

Finally, at the August 26th Board of Trustees meeting, we will be sharing updates from the Return to Campus workgroup, including the possibility of a vaccine mandate and how such a mandate can be operationalized. At this time, the College is not requiring proof of vaccination and the Fall in-person classes scheduled will continue as planned.

Updated Information about Returning to Campus for Fall 2021

The San Francisco Department of Public Health has rescinded their health directives for Institutions of Higher Education. ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is following the CDC guidelines for institutions of higher education where not everyone is fully vaccinated. Students, employees, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear face coverings and follow social distancing requirements while indoors at all college locations.
